Norway to Ban Internal Combustion Engines by 2025

On the heels of becoming the first nation on earth to ban deforestation, Norway is also reportedly very close to a ban on internal combustion (gasoline) engines in passenger automobiles by 2025.
This is remarkable given the oil-rich nation of Norway is Europe’s largest fossil fuel producer!  North Sea oil production accounts for 45% of Norway’s exports and 20% of GDP.
As reported in the past, Norway’s progressive nature also makes it an ideal nation to embrace LENR and make an influential divestment away from the carbon based economy it has so relied upon.  Statoil and the Norwegian royal family would be well advised to pursue meaningful investments in the field.

A Paradigm $hift

Oil prices have been in a free fall for the past year.  In just the past month, prices have collapsed more than 20%.  We may be witnessing the first step in a shift of the paradigm of cyclical oil markets and a softening of our future dependency on fossil fuels.  The volatility in oil prices is not over, but our current low prices and the general expectation of continued low prices, means there is less market resistance against embracing the inevitable.  There will be huge restrictions and carbon taxes levied against the petroleum industry in the near future.  Climate change or not, technology and alternative energy sources are becoming more attractive to the market.  Governments all over the globe are embracing the vision of a carbon-free world where we aren’t dependent upon the oil cartels and unexpected price swings.  I think some of this sentiment is starting to be priced into the oil markets and revised expectations on future demands and profits are materializing.
The door is wide open for LENR to completely destroy this paradigm.  As investors, scientists and world leaders catch wind of LENR and start to look for ways to materialize a carbon-free world, LENR will gain the attention it deserves.  LENR has been categorically ignored for over 25 years, but there is too much revolutionary potential in it to ignore it forever.  Companies like Brillouin Energy, Industrial Heat LLC, LENUCO and countless other experimenters will have a head start in understanding what many readers here already know about LENR.
The motivation to push LENR over the edge will be profits.  Oil’s free fall will erase over $4 trillion dollars in revenue over the coming years.  Now imagine dissatisfied investors learn of a new technology that could potentially fulfill all of our energy needs.  It’s ironic that the pursuit of wealth may unlock one of the most selfless gifts to the world, but Bill Gates himself recently compared the search for renewable technologies with the early days of the technology industry and predicted that some investors will make a lot of money.  Money is the way of the world and even if you can’t help invest, you can be proud that you were the first person in your group to recognize LENR and you can now simply sit back and enjoy the show.

More research needs to be done, but momentum behind LENR appears to be growing.  Why?  Clearly, LENR is a disruptive technology.  As was suggested to us in our conversation with our scientist contact, imagine if you could have a small unit in your garage that could produce electricity to power your house and automobile with a material source that cost $10 and lasted for six months while producing no dangerous waste.  Would that revolutionize the power business?  Certainly.  Could small LENR units be built to power vehicles?  Maybe.  When will we know?  Not for a while, and maybe never.  If it works, we are likely talking about a decade-long development period.  While that appears a long time, imagine you were at Drake’s well in Pennsylvania in 1859 when whale oil was still the preferred lighting fuel.  Would you have embraced oil?  We urge readers to pay attention to LENR’s development as it may signal the next energy transformation.”
 

White House Push for LENR?

Speaking today from Argonne’s Advanced Photon Source, President Obama said “I want the next great job-creating breakthroughs, whether it’s in energy or nanotechnology or bio-engineering , I want those breakthroughs to be right here in the United States of America, creating American jobs and maintaining our technological lead.”
There doesn’t seem a better time for LENR traction than the present. Oil prices have stayed high through the Great Recession and advances in directional drilling and hydraulic fracturing of oil shale have opened up the U.S. to be the world’s largest exporter of oil this decade.
President Obama’s clean energy plan proposes to spend $200 million a year on research, would be paid for with revenue from federal oil and gas leases on offshore drilling and would not add to the deficit.
